Chronic respiratory conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, pose significant challenges to individuals and healthcare systems across Europe. These conditions can lead to reduced lung function, impaired quality of life, and increased healthcare costs. The management and treatment of such conditions require innovative approaches that transcend national borders and foster collaborative efforts. While there are various treatment options available, promoting physical activity has emerged as a crucial component in managing and improving the outcomes for patients with chronic respiratory conditions. Recognising the importance of a collaborative and innovative approach, a European partnership has been established to promote physical activity among this patient population.
This book stands as a testament to the power of cooperation and collective knowledge-sharing in tackling the challenges posed by these prevalent ailments.
