As a lecturer-researcher the information provided within this project is immensely useful for the development of a modern curriculum which enhances teaching efficiency, promotes active learning, and better prepares students for real-world scenarios. This makes my role more impactful, aligned with modern educational standards.. The project focuses on a comprehensive and innovative approach to teaching and training in the health sciences, particularly for nursing education. It leverages modern technologies, educational theories, and methodologies to create a rich learning environment. The most interesting aspects and strengths are: student centered learning, simulation-based training, blended learning approach and continuous assessment and feedback.
The publication entitled "BREATH: Interdisciplinary Approaches and Strategies in Chronic Respiratory Disease Management" is available on the project website. The publication deals with the significant challenges posed by chronic respiratory conditions, such as COPD and asthma, which lead to reduced lung function, impaired quality of life, and increased healthcare costs across Europe. It highlights the emergence of physical activity as a crucial, innovative component in managing and improving patient outcomes. This book serves as a testament to the power of a collaborative European partnership, promoting joint efforts and collective knowledge-sharing to tackle these prevalent ailments. It underscores the importance of transcending national borders to foster effective management and treatment strategies.
The BREATH: Improving Rehabilitation and Quality of Life for Patients with Chronic Respiratory Diseases conference, which took place on May 22, 2025, was attended by a total of 51 people, including healthcare professionals, researchers, patient representatives, students and public health experts. All key project results were successfully presented, marking an important milestone for the completion of this international initiative.
The BREATH Project: Collaborative Strategies for Comprehensive Management of Chronic Respiratory Conditions conference, held on May 2025, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, was attended by a total of 68 participants, including healthcare professionals, researchers, patient representatives, students, and public health experts. This gathering provided an invaluable platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences, while also showcasing the project's key outcomes. The successful presentation of the project’s comprehensive results marked a significant milestone in advancing interdisciplinary approaches for the management of chronic respiratory conditions.
